Private Chef & Healthy Gastronomy: The Taste of True Luxury

Caribbean cuisine suffers from a stubborn cliché. It is often imagined as being limited to fried foods (the famous acras) or heavy, rich stews. People forget that Martinique is, above all, a vast orchard and a giant aquarium.

At INHERENCE, we believe that luxury starts on the plate. But we mean healthy, light luxury, food that gives you energy rather than weighing you down.

Forget the chore of grocery shopping and cooking. Let one of our Private Chefs transform your villa into an exclusive gastronomic workshop.

1. Absolute Freshness: The Vauclin Tuna (Zero Mile)

True luxury is not about imported goods; it is about "Zero Mile" sourcing. Our chefs work directly with the fishermen of Martinique.

It is not uncommon for the red tuna served at your dinner table to have been caught that very morning off Pointe Faula. Prepared as a seared tataki or a tartare with lime zest, it offers an incomparable melting texture. It is pure Omega-3 richness, far removed from the frozen imported products often found in standard hotels.

2. The Vegetable Side: Christophine instead of Fries

To accompany these noble proteins, we rely on the island's vegetable treasures. The Christophine Gratin (chayote) is our signature side dish.

It is a water-rich vegetable, very low in calories, with a delicate taste reminiscent of zucchini but with a firmer texture. Cooked lightly by our chefs; without excessive cream but with just the right spices; it is the perfect blend of Creole indulgence and "detox."

3. The Insider Tip: The Vauclin Market

Do you want to cook for yourself one evening? To find the best organic produce (root vegetables, fresh herbs, vegetarian peppers), avoid the supermarkets.

Go to the source:

  • For Seafood: The Vauclin Fish Market (right on the harbor).
  • For Produce: The Le Marin Covered Market (if you are staying on the Atlantic coast).

💡 The INHERENCE Tip: Aim for early Saturday morning. Look for our usual market gardener contact (ask us for his name before you arrive!). This local network makes all the difference on your plate.

4. The Digestive Ritual: The "Brizée"

To end a dinner, forget industrial coffee. In Martinique, we finish with a "Brizée." It is an infusion of fresh lemongrass and crushed leaves, often picked directly from the villa’s garden. It is the local secret for light digestion and a peaceful night’s sleep.

Want to just relax and enjoy? From a vitamin-packed breakfast to a grilled lobster dinner, our chefs take care of everything.
